Biography

Anat Cohen (b. 1979) was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. Cohen is among the leading clarinetists in today’s music, winning the “Clarinetist of the Year” title from the Jazz Journalists Association for twelve consecutive years (2007-2019). She began playing clarinet at age 12 and tenor saxophone at 16, which she went on to play during service in the Israeli Air Force Band. She graduated from Berklee College of Music and moved to New York, where she quickly made herself at home in ensembles like The Diva Jazz Orchestra and the Choro Ensemble. She has since recorded 19 albums and has founded her own record label, Anzic Records.
