Band Director Support Program

Jazz Empowers' Band Director Support Program helps provide support to promising jazz programs at Title 1 schools.  Schools that are accepted into our program will receive a $500-$1,000 grant that can be used for instruments, sheet music, and other resources needed in order to run their jazz program.   Band directors will also have full access to all of Jazz Empowers curriculum resources.  In addition, Jazz Empowers staff will support band directors by providing coaching sessions to help them develop as effective jazz educators.

Jazz Empowers Instructors

We are looking to hire part time, contracted music educators in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Chicago, New York City, and Nashville to lead the jazz programs at our partner schools for the 2023-2024 school year. Jazz band directors will be responsible for teaching the ensemble comprised of 10-25 students for the entire school year. Highly qualified educators will have experience teaching music in group settings, have strong behavior management skills, and be able to teach beginner students the basics of trombone, trumpet, alto sax, piano, bass, guitar, and drums.  If you are interested in applying please email your resume to apply@jazzempowers.org.
