Bio

Dave Brubeck (1920-2012) is known as one of the most influential pianists in jazz history and was a staple of the west coast jazz scene. Brubeck is famous for leading his quartet and his longtime partnership with saxophonist Paul Desmond. Brubeck’s composition “Take Five” is one of the most popular jazz songs in history and his 1959 album “Time Out” is regarded as a core album for any jazz listening library. Brubeck’s light and smooth playing gave him a unique sound, and he recorded over 100 albums as a leader.
