Biography

New York based Dave Douglas (1963-Present) is one of the most active trumpet players, composers, and band leaders on the jazz scene today. Douglas has released over 40 albums as a leader and has performed with countless jazz greats including Chris Potter and Joe Lovano. Douglas is known for his unique sound, fresh ideas, and advanced harmonic ideas. Douglas is also a prolific and brillant composer, and has published over 500 compositions. Douglas currently is an active performer with many of his own groups, teaches at the New School, and runs Greenleaf Music.
