Frank Sinatra

Biography

Frank Sinatra, born in 1915 in New Jersey, was one of the most famous singers of the 20th century. Inspired by Bing Crosby in the mid-1930’s to pursue singing, Sinatra had his first big break when bandleader Harry James assisted him in producing his first recordings. This caught the attention of Tommy Dorsey, who then invited Sinatra to join his Orchestra in 1940. After a few years of burning success with Tommy Dorsey, Sinatra ventured out to start his solo career. The following decade, though, took a different turn for him, and his acting career came into play. After winning an Oscar in 1953, he got signed at Capitol Records. His burning success led him to create chart-topping records such as “My Way” and “Strangers in the Night”. By the time Sinatra’s career came to an end when he passed away in 1985, he sold an estimated 150 million records worldwide. His powerful baritone voice will continue to live on and enchant generations to come.
