Herbie Hancock (1940-Present) has been one of the most influential voices in jazz over the past 6 decades. Hancock got his first big break as a jazz musician when he joined Donald Byrd’s band in his early 20’s. He went on to become a member of Miles Davis’s second great quintet. Hancock is known for his contributions to the fusion jazz movement and continually evolving as a band leader, artist, and composer. He has won 14 Grammy’s and has recorded over 40 albums as a leader.
