Katie Ernst
Bio
Katie Earnest is a talented and accomplished bassist known for her playing and singing. Katie is a co-leader of the adventurous Chicago-based jazz trio Twin Talk, and is also well known for her critically acclaimed Dorothy Parker poetry song cycle Little Words, which premiered at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Katie recieved a composing residency at the Ragdale Foundation in 2002, has performed at the Hyde Park Jazz Festival and Chicago Jazz Festival, has performed with pianist/composer Jason Moran at the Chicago Symphony Center and the Kennedy Center, and represented the USA as a bassist and vocalist for the 2018 EuroRadio Jazz Orchestra in Riga, Latvia. She was also named a Luminarts Fellow in Jazz in 2013.
