Biography

Lucio Amanti was born in Montreal, Canada. He began playing the cello in an orchestra, and after a few years of study, he won a scholarship to Indiana University. After two years of intense classical study, Amanti wanted to explore other ways to use his instrument. He completed two years of study in jazz cello, becoming the first jazz cellist to receive a masters degree in jazz studies.
