Biography

Born in Puerto Rico on December 30th, 1976, Miguel Zenon would go on to become one of the leading modern alto saxophone players. He gained his undergraduate degree from Berklee college of music, and his Masters Degree from Manhattan School of music. He would also go on to be a recipient of the MacArthur Genius Grant, as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship. Known for his free flowing harmonic and rhythmic sophistication, Zenon is one of the leading alto saxophonists alive today. He has performed with an impressive list of musicians, including but not limited to, David Gilmore, Danilo Perez, Mingus Big Band, SF Jazz Collective, Bobby Hutcherson, Jeff Ballard, and many others.
