Larry Grenadier is an American jazz double bassist. Today, Grenadier is one of the most admired bassists in the genre. Throughout his life, Grenadier played wirh numerous jazz greats. This includes Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, and Brad Meldauh. Grenadier is known for his unique tone and improvisaiton ideas. He’s been fetured on countless recordings as a side man and has released several records as a band leader too, including his 2019 ECM solo bass album. Titled the Gleaners, this record features originals as well as pieces by well known composers like Gershwin, Coltrane, and Paul Motian.
