Rosana Eckert
Biography
Rosana Eckert is an accomplished Jazz Vocalist, Educator, Arranger, Bandleader, and Songwriter from El Paso, Texas. Amazingly enough, she pursued a degree in French Horn Performance and Music Theory at the University of North Texas. She first started singing jazz in college, fell in love, then fully immersed herself into the vocal jazz realm. She started writing, arranging, and singing with the UNT Jazz Singers and One O'Clock Band. Once she completed her Undergrad degree, she decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Jazz Voice (and was the first vocalist to pursue this master’s program!). After her college education came to a close, she began her freelance career and was also hired as a private Jazz Voice teacher at UNT… 23 years strong. Some of the great musicians she’s worked with include: Bobby McFerrin, Christian McBride, the New York Voices, Kenny Wheeler, and many more. Rosana was recognized and awarded the “Superior Debut” title for her Debut Album “At The End Of The Day” in 2006 by Cadence Magazine.
