Roxy Coss
Bio
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Roxy Coss has gone on to do an incredible amount of work advocating for women in jazz. An accomplished band leader in her own right, she gained early experience in the jazz world from associations with Clark Terry and Jeremy Pelt. Since these early exposure dates, she has gone on to record 5 albums under her own name. She also started the Women in Jazz Organization (WIJO) in 2017. The WIJO consists of nearly 300 women and woman identifying musicians mainly in New York City, who desire to level the playing field and focus on boosting the voices of women musicians who might not otherwise be heard. She currently teaches at Juilliard. A few musicians that she has collaborated with are, Glenn Zeleski, Rick Rosato, Rufus Reid, George Cables, Curtis Fuller, Rich Perry, and Donny McCaslin.
